Marketing and Business Development Project

Business Plan Presentation, Certificate Presentation and Leaving Party at KVTC Day 8!

In Volunteer Project on August 18, 2010 at 6:52 pm

Today was our last day of our marketing and business development project to enable KVTC in becoming a sustainable enterprise. We presented our finalized Business Plan to Charles and all the staff of KVTC. We sincerely wish that they will  implement the business plan successfully and we will  get to see positive results by next year. Charles gave a great speech after our business plan presentation.

After the speech, we presented the staff  who had all successfully completed our training program with an Introduction to Marketing certificate. Joseph performed the best in the exam, so we gave him a special prize. Sonia presented a framed photo collage of  our time spent at KVTC  to Charles as a memento of the project we had just completed. After that, it was the secret friend gift section and then party time. Our time in Kampala was filled with a lot of wonderful moments and we also had a lot of fun. Thank you everyone for showing us such a great time. 🙂 We hope we have helped KVTC get closer to helping Uganda achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Thank you again to Davide Sola for running a triathlon to help us raise funds for KVTC. 🙂

Teaching at KVTC Day 7!

In Volunteer Project on July 25, 2010 at 8:11 pm

We finished our teaching today by giving them an exam and a Q&A section. We are happy that most of them did very well in the exam and they really acquired marketing skills that will benefit the centre. KVTC will be better equipped to provide, promote and support basic educational & vocational skills as well as Functional Adult Literacy for orphans and vulnerable young people, complemented as financial means permit by sponsorship/scholarship programs.

Maria and Nina presented a case study of Starbucks to wrap up everything we have taught  in the previous week, including the 4Ps, Branding, CRM. We showed the staff a video of how Starbucks provides good service to customers. This gave them a better understanding of what we have taught them. 🙂

After the class, Tobi met Charles and explained to him what we had so far concerning the business plan. Charles liked the business plan and said one word: Excellent.

Well done to  Tobi and the rest of the group for contributing!

We will present our business plan on Friday.
